Preparing The Dogs For Expected Baby
As soon as she discovered she was pregnant, Briana O’Leary knew that her 6 rescue pitbulls would adore their baby brother she was expecting. The family prepared their dogs by playing You Tube videos of crying babies randomly throughout their house.
When Camden finally arrived, they little by little introduced the baby boy to the dogs, slowly, one at a time. The dogs were just very gentle and patient. It was very easy to teach little Camden to be gentle with them in turn. Initially the shelter had prepped them that the dogs needed a kids-free home because of their aggressive nature.
100 Fosters And Can’t Stop
But the family had a different experience. Over time they’ve had 100 fosters and can’t stop. Baby Camden helped with each new one. As a toddler he even developed a special bond with one of them, Wellington, at first sight, when found abandoned in a park. Camden said ‘’BABY BABY’’ ? and just loved the puppy, being very gentle with him. Wellington was underweight and Camden filled his bowl every day helping him to get stronger and stronger.
Penny Changed His Life
The reason behind all this was that in the past Camden’s dad had injured his head in an accident, had to quit his job and ended up a zombie on several medications. His therapist had told him to get a dog. He adopted Penny Lane, a pitbull who turned out to be scared of men, growling at kids. John hired a trainer who one day told him to stop being scared of life and become the person Penny needed him to be. That’s what he did. Penny changed his life so much that he started his own non profit focusing on Humane Education & Dog Rescue.
The whole family is involved now. For Briana and John it is important the kids be respectful of animals, because it grooms them how to behave with people. Their experience has taught them to trust the energy that develops between the dogs and the kids. It’s just simply love.Nice people, nice doggies – full of sunshine.
'Aggressive' Pit Bulls LOVE Their Baby Brother
When these pitties were in the shelter, they were labeled "aggressive" and "anxious" — but a couple who's fostered hundreds of dogs took a chance on them. Today on Pittie Nation, watch how the family's six rescue dogs welcomed their (human) baby brother Camden in the sweetest way 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶❤️👶
