Golden Retriever, Finn, had no choice but to wear the infamous ‘cone of shame’ due to a recent spay-neuter surgery.
No dog enjoys wearing the cone of shame. Fortunately, Finn was a laidback and easygoing puppy, so his mom Frates decided to be creative about it and make the next two weeks more bearable for both of them.
Pinterest was Frates’ best friend during those times. Scrolling through the posts, she found many great ideas that she decided to let Finn sport a different look each day.
While Frates can’t take credit for the designs she found online, Finn pulled off all the looks she recreated very well! Finn’s costumes gained positive feedback on social media as if the idea were entirely new. From a hilarious satellite dish to a box of McDonald’s French Fries, to the infamous Pixar logo, the possibilities are endless.
While the costumes serve to please the human eye, one may ask what’s in store for Finn. According to Frates, posing for the photos kept Finn’s attention away from the cone. Frates would also give him lots of dog treats afterward, so it’s a win-win situation!
After two weeks, Frates gave an update on Facebook, saying that Finn is grateful that the cone is finally off. Frates also praised her beloved pup for being such a good sport during those two weeks! Judging the compilation of different photos, the two undoubtedly redefined the cone of shame and transformed 14 days of boredom into something else.
Personally I would have spared my pup this fiddeling with the cone, cone being enough of inconvenience. Pup deserved extra many long walks in the woods or along the riverbanks every 14 days to keep him happy and forgetting about the cone. Ask Finn what he thinks.
