Best decision ever, according to Sergi, who embarks on a dream adventure in a kayak. He ends up meeting a dog that makes the trip even more amazing.
Decided To Quit His Job
Sergi, a young spaniard decided to quit his office in Barcelona and takes off in a kayak along the coasts of France and Italy. The first year passed by in this wonderful natural scenery and world of discovery and freedom. He was having the time of his life.
During the second leg of the trip it get’s even better. On the island of Sardinia he encounters a stray dog who looked like he needed a friend. The dog was obviously abandoned and not well treated. He calls him Nirvana and takes him to the vet to find out the dog is healthy.
Fitting A Dog Into A Small Kayak ?
Sergi considers taking Nirvana with him on the kayak trip although he has his doubts about fitting a dog into the small kayak and being able to make Nirvana nice and comfortable in his new nomad life. But Nirvana joins the expedition and Sergi buys him supplies, a wind suit and rigs up a make shift sun tent for protection on the kayak. So off they go together to new adventures and amazing experiences. More amazing thanks to Nirvana, according to Sergi.
Now he had a full-time companion that was compact, fun loving and contagiously joyful and easy to communicate with. Nirvana was well behaved, had total trust in his new dad and Sergi could bring him almost everywhere on the trip. They discovered under water caves, desert coastal cove beaches for camping, beautiful sun sets and sun rises, visited interesting places and met lots of wonderful people.
A Chance In A Million
Nirvana learned new things quickly, like swimming, jumping on to the cliffs and running on the shore beside the kayak. Nirvana turned out the perfect travel companion who loved the trip just as much as Sergi. A chance in a million that thee two would meet.
The story of Sergi and Nirvana continues today, Nirvana has become a sailor dog on board a nice, wooden vintage scooner. And they also have the company of a new friend Goku, the cat they found on the trip.
The Dodo YouTube channel edited a nice video story from Sergi’s video clips that you can enjoy below.
