A dog’s jaw is often very tough. It was designed to bite through hard materials. That is the reason why Dr. Jeff, a known vet, became very curious about Lady’s case. Lady is an American Eskimo dog who broke her jaw.
She broke her jaw when she slammed into another dog. Mere slamming into another canine should not result in a broken jaw. The doctor knows that there is an underlying condition, and that’s what he wants to find out.
He is also hoping to fix Lady’s jaw so she can continue using it without pain. When he checked the x-rays, she can see that the bones on Lady’s jaw were too thin. This is why it broke so easily.
The most common cause for thinning of the bones is a chronic infection. The doctor found out that this is the case the moment he started operating on Lady. So how thin her bones were, which was very challenging for the surgery.
Dr jeff needed to stabilize Lady’s jaws. The doctor would have to place wires on it to stabilize it.
The doctor needed to be very careful because he can break the dog’s jaw if he tightens the wires too tight. If it’s also too loose, it could not heal properly.
Thankfully, the surgery went well, and Lady is on her way to recovery. She would have to be under longterm anti-biotics, but other than that, she should heal well.
Lady’s family is very grateful for everything Dr. Jeff has done for their precious dog. It was difficult for them to see Lady in pain. Knowing that she is on her way to complete healing is giving them relief.
They will forever be grateful to Dr. Jeff, and his team has done for their beloved pet. Now the family knows the importance of dental hygiene. They will make sure not to take it for granted ever again.
