A cute chihuahua was observed straying behind a school and started visiting more and more frequently. Josie, a woman who works at the school, tried feeding the cute boy every day. After a few months, Josie decided that feeding the dog was not enough – she had to get help for the dog so he could have a forever home, food and love.
contacted a rescue team
Josie contacted a rescue team, and, soon enough, two rescuers came to the school. They tried to get the dog’s trust first by giving him some treats. The dog was happy to eat the treats.
cautious and distrusting
Despite that, the dog still was cautious and distrusting, and he would run away when the rescuers came closer. They then tried using a snare, but that failed as well. It was really a challenge because the dog would swiftly escape when he saw the rescuers approaching.
The rescuers then decided to use a cage with some food inside it. The dog went inside, but the trigger to close the door didn’t work, so the dog escaped again. Eventually they managed and the hungry boy was brought to a rescue center where he was cared for and helped to recuperate from his stray life. They named him Stauffer, after the philantropist, 102 years old lady who donated all the funds to buil this school .
last bit of progress
Because he was rescued, Stauffer is now facing a brighter and happier future. He still has not gained all of his confidence but is doing much better, and with the help and loving care of the shelter staff his is gradually overcoming his insecurity and becoming the adorable chihuhua that he is inside. The last bit of progress Stauffer needs in his life journey is to find the right family who wants to offer him the unconditional love he needs to build his trust and to give him the new, happy forever home that he deserves.
